TRUE LACROSSE Training TEAMS

We are excited to begin a successful season at True Lacrosse with our elite travel teams! The True Lacrosse difference allows players to gain expert knowledge of the game from our experienced coaching staff, all of whom have played at the collegiate level. We practice more than any other club team in the state, and specifically design our practices to mirror the pace and structure of a Division I program. True Lacrosse players, you are part of the True family. If you wish to continue playing at the collegiate level, we will provide you with thorough guidance throughout the entire recruiting process to help you gain entry to a school where you will be challenged, happy, and ultimately successful.

True Utah Welcomes Sharon Turner, New Director of True Utah Girls Program

True Lacrosse Utah is pleased to welcome Sharon Turner to the staff as the new director of the True Utah Girls Program. Sharon comes to True with vast experience as a player and coach, promising to bring legitimacy and excellence to the new True Utah Girls program!

Sharon joins True after serving as program director for Valkyries Elite Women’s Lacrosse and assistant coach for the women’s lacrosse team at Ramapo College (D3). She was also working at Legacy Global Sports as head coach for the women’s lacrosse team and social media director for the New York Region. Additionally, she worked with US Lacrosse for the last 10 years in various roles including umpire for women’s lacrosse games, youth mentor, youth trainer, and serving on the ethics committee. She has run a number of skill-specific clinics and camps for high school girls, and served as director for the T3 Cobras, a club program in New York.

A 2015 graduate of Drew University, Sharon earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Political Science and Spanish. During her time at Drew, Sharon was a member of the women’s varsity lacrosse team; vice-president of Sigma Pi Delta; a member of Pi Sigma Alpha (Zeta Rho), and was a cum laude student.

Sharon is excited to bring her experience from the east coast to the young lacrosse community in Utah. “I have seen lacrosse grow in the tristate area over the last 15 years and my personal experience as a player reflects this,” she said. “I started playing on a middle school rec team coached by volunteer parents and then played on an unsanctioned high school team before eventually being able to play at the collegiate level. It was great to see the sport progress along the east coast and now I am bringing my enthusiasm for the game to Utah. There is a ton of untapped potential here and as far as I'm concerned, the opportunity for growth is limitless. I am so excited for the future with True and want young players to have the same positive relationship with the game. With my years of experience as a player, official, and coach, I hope to elevate the level of play here in Utah.”

True Utah Director Mason Poage is confident in Sharon’s ability to grow the girls’ game here in Utah. “I am beyond excited that we are able to welcome Sharon Turner to our team here at True Lacrosse Utah. Our goal here is to train all levels of lacrosse and grow the game out in the west region. She is going to help coach and service the girl’s game here locally and on a National level. Sharon is hardworking, has great knowledge of the game and is the perfect person we were looking for to take our girls program to a national level.”
